Scope Of Work

The Scope of Work is taken from the official agreement between Starfish and the client.

It details what work that Starfish has agreed to do for the client.

It can contain extra details that will help the project get on its feet.

What is in a Scope of Work

It will contain a mixture of notes and contractual agreements about the project.

Contractual agreements are things like number of pages and sections, functions included and package bought.

Notes are things like template chosen by the client and information about the client’s business

How to use it

The scope of work is used to kick off the initial planning activities.

The team (especially the coordinator) must be clear on the limitations of the project.

The scope of work needs to understood by the coordinator, so that the scope if not breached by the client or the team.

Fixed Price Projects

Fixed priced projects will have a legally binding scope of work that we must accomplish but also not do anything more (unless the client pays extra)

Hourly Rate Projects

Hourly rate projects may have a looser, non-binding scope of work, but they should have some sort of guideline scope that will help the project find its feet.
