Maintenance is mainly technical work that we need to do every month (as long as there is budget)
What is Maintenance important?
Websites need to be looked after on a regular basis, otherwise they become unsafe and slow.
It can take about a year to happen, but if it is allowed to happen then deeper and more complex Special Care is needed.
More complex sites need more maintenance.
The more plugins, functions a website has, the more software there is to update.
The more content and customization a client does, the more it is likely to get messy and slow down.
Work on the most complex sites FIRST, since the client has the budget and is most likely to need fixing.
Account Management
The main thing is to perform regular checks and use the client’s monthly budget – before the site gets too old and difficult to keep clean.
Client Reporting
Be aware that a client may require specific reports to be sent out each month.
Service Level Agreements
Some clients may have a very specific contract that we need to stick to since their website is very important to them.
