Client Relations
Coordinators are the main contacts with the client.
Maintaining a healthy, balanced, transparent relationship is a core principle.
Managing expectations
Give clients advance warning when things won’t happen in reasonable time.
Making sure clients don’t expect too much.
Explaining the process and what we require from them
Clients have assumptions on how websites are made. They are often wrong. We should be in charge of the project and explain to them
Budget and Scope awareness
The scope and budget are not well understood by the client.
Notify clients ahead of work that their requests will put the project out of bounds.
This is very important for collaborative clients on fixed price projects.
Informing of holidays and absences
Clients need to know when we are not working (this is part of managing expectations).
Reminding Clients
Clients are busy, they need reminding of their duties towards us and their website. E.g. giving content or renewing hosting or paying bills.
Assisting Clients
Clients are busy, if you can find a way to help them organize content or do their part.
