Content Prototyping

A content prototype is a draft version of a website used briefly to see how the content behaves.

Prototypes are done at the same time as Visual Planning—and they help with the Visual Planning process.

The proposed template should be loaded in.

What is a content prototype?

A content prototype is a bare-bones version of the written content of the website.

You don’t have to enter all the content, just enough to test key pages and complex navigation

It may have the navigation and the function used to deal with content

What is the style, photos, extra functions.

Don't continue straight into the Build Phase

The prototype should be stopped. It isn’t the build phase.

Which project needs content prototyping?

Any project that has lots of content that you want to get a feel for.

This is for content driven projects that have 10 or more pages and sub pages.

Why is this important?

Testing out the content layout ensures that the client will be happy with the size and amount.

You can adjust font sizes and widths and make more accurate layout plans after this.
