Initial Planning
Initial planning are the initial tasks in the Visual Planning process.
They are done before and collaborative work – which happens in the content, creative and layout planning.
What is initial planning?
What are the main tasks?
A competitive analysis is usually done to help us understand the client’s business and inspire us.
Understanding and laying down the scope of work in the visual plan.
Creating a descriptive sitemap from the scope of work.
Initial content tasks
If the client has given content already, these will need to be laid down in the Visual Plan.
Initial client briefs
There are usually initial meetings with the client where he gives further instructions such as a creative brief. These will need to be laid down in the visual plan.
Administrative tasks
The administrative duties include setting up Figma, and Rock and inviting the client and the team to these management spaces.
Understanding the approach
How should this particular project be tackled? Understanding the best way to approach the project is essential.
Why is initial planning important?
Initial planning ensures that the project builds up momentum, and that other team members have access to enough information to be able to participate.
There will always be unpredictable things in a project, but being prepared and checking the detailed before getting others involved helps the project run smoothly and quick and lessens the chance of a project failing or going wrong.
